In my world everything adjusts automatically. *My radio clock (mistakenly
called an "atomic" clock) sets itself. *My personal watch is the analog clock

can think of that I'll have to change is the one in my car, which I usually
don't look at anyway.

Let's see if the iphones don't screw up this year.

Spring Back.... Fall Forward

Oh yeah, sounds good, if you live in Tasmania

Once again, it will be time to shift your GMT clock.

Remember, on March 13, set your GMT clock back one hour as we observe DST here

It's a funny thing but I always thought it was the other way around.

Spring forward, Fall back

Makes more sense given that we wind our clocks back this Winter after
having wound them forward in the Spring.

Maybe the US does it differently???

Not quite sure why you mention GMT, as that is the time zone we use in
the UK during the winter (Grenwich Mean Time).

Also curious why you put your clock back an hour, over here we put ours
forward one hour for the summer.

Also for those here in the UK, we don't change out clocks until the last
Sunday in march.

Sensible places in other words. Daylight saving is one of the most pointless
routines ever devised by man.

On Thursday, March 10th, 2011 at 06:24:53h +0000, David Kaye explained:

Mexico continues to observe the last Sunday of March to last Sunday of
October schedule as we used to

Except, according to Wikipedia

As of December 2009, the Mexican Congress gave permission to these
ten northern border cities to synchronize their time to that of
their US counterparts:

Matamoros, Tamaulipas
Reynosa, Tamaulipas
Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas
Anahuac, Nuevo Leon
Acuna, Coahuila
Piedras Negras, Coahuila
Ojinaga, Chihuahua
Juarez, Chihuahua
Mexicali, Baja California
Tijuana, Baja California

And I read somewhere that unsurprisingly the Mexican Stock Exchange
observes daylight savings time during the same periods as the rest
of North America.

We used to, too. George W. Bush enacted the extra month of daylight time. It
begins 3 weeks before it used to and ends 1 week after it used to. Since
Halloween always fell on standard time, it was fun as kids to go out in the
dark. Now that doesn't happen as Halloween is now on daylight time.

They were talking about putting the clocks 2 hours forward here, as
apparently they reckon it would help tourism. I'm not sure why, as we
already get plenty of light in the evenings during the summer. In June,
sunset doesn't come until about 9:00 pm, and it's still fairly light
until almost 10pm.

Putting the the clocks forward 2 hours would mean, in June, it wouldn't
get dark until about 11pm, and it would be even later in Scotland as
they are both further North and further West.

Newflash - Daylight saving doesn't make the sun stay in the sky longer.

That's what I think. If people want more daylight in the evenings, there
is nor particular reason why they can't just get up earlier. No need to
force the rest of us to do the same.

Such as Digital radio broadcast at such low quality, it's not worth
listening to.
