Gee, I wonder how the brain dead tea-baggers are going to tap dance
around their Saint, Ronnie Reagan, actually -defending- collective
bargaining.

Probably the same way they dance around his nuclear disarmament policy.

I did when I worked in Gulfport Mississippi,
the dues weren't as bad as the job would have been without a union.
same thing when I worked in Alabama.
Of course I worked several non-union jobs too... for **** wages.

Union gigs pay very well. My best years were at NBC as a member of NABET
(CWA). I think the union dues are deductible, too.

I don't think $273/day +$50 per diem in lieu of benefits is out of line
for a company that charges $10,000 for a 30 second commercial.

Government charges taxes. But you are too stupid to understand the
difference.

*you already see it. the original poster is getting ever more shrill,
posting under another alias(he has another one for sure, i am sure we
will see it soon), posting stuff that proves he is a fascist, then
trying to project that onto others. lets remind him that reagan was
once the president of the actors union, and that he supported gasp,
FDR:)

Reagan described himself in the thirties and World War II as an
ardent New Dealer, awakening only to anticommunism in a bitter postwar
labor union battle with industry Stalinists. And 1938 was arguably
the most seductive year for an ardent New Dealer to join the Party, as
both liberals and communists worked side by side in organizations and
the Party line of the moment was patriotic antifascism. All of that
would end a year later when liberal suspicions about the geography of
the Party’s true loyalties were confirmed when the comrades closed
ranks around the Hitler-Stalin Pact.

*i am sure that ronnie saw how the fascists and communists hated labor
unions during the 1930's. and he remembered that when he made that
statement.

Those of us who have suffered either under official, vetted history
under totalitarian regimes or under equally edited works by academia
know that a historical lie doesn't require empirical proof, merely
repetition.

"These are the values inspiring those brave workers in Poland ... They
remind us that where free unions and collective bargaining are
forbidden, freedom is lost." -- Ronald Reagan labor day address (1980)- Hide quoted text -

"All Government employees should realize that the process of
collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted
into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable
limitations when applied to public personnel management. The very
nature and purposes of Government make it impossible for
administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in
mutual discussions with Government employee organizations. The
employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by
their representatives in Congress. Accordingly, administrative
officials and employees alike are governed and guided, and in many
instances restricted, by laws which establish policies, procedures, or
rules in personnel matters."

"Particularly, I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics
have no place in the functions of any organization of Government
employees. Upon employees in the Federal service rests the obligation
to serve the whole people, whose interests and welfare require
orderliness and continuity in the conduct of Government activities.
This obligation is paramount. Since their own services have to do with
the functioning of the Government, a strike of public employees
manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or
obstruct the operations of Government until their demands are
satisfied. Such action, looking toward the paralysis of Government by
those who have sworn to support it, is unthinkable and intolerable."

Your twisted lies and stupidity are actually funny. President Reagan
was NOT refering to Government bloodsucking workers in a Public Union.
He was refering to a union fighting against a communist government.
But, your public school education renders you incapable of discerning
any difference.

In case you missed it in your drug induced stupor - In 1981 President
Reagan fired 11,000 striking air traffic controllers.
