I checked inside last night; the filter in question is hard-soldered into the CB; if it were just inserted, I guess I could have just plopped another similar filter I have (15 kHz) into place to try it out. I've also already spoken with Kiwa, and this morning I'll give Icom a call. Bruce I've had some interaction with ICOM in Bellevue. They do nice work, and they're pretty quick, depending on workload. The first time, there was a miscommunication, apparently, and they didn't to the second part of the project I sent them. So you need to be very clear about your symptoms and your expectations. In my case, they did make it right, however. And the second radio I sent to them, came back to me looking and operating like new. I have no hesitation about sending a rig to them now, or in the future. |
