Yes, on some undeveloped property, I had antennas I had collected for
years, used them to repair and make new ones from the parts, tubing, etc.

The crooks found them in an unlocked barn and hauled 'em all off ...
some businesses, schools, etc. have had major vandalism/theft of major
amounts of copper plumbing and wiring ...

The central valley of California is like a 3rd world country. They even
steal the rear license plate off your car, your garbage can full of
drink containers, lawn garden equipment, hoses, decorations, fountains ...

You wonder what it is going to be like when it gets worse ... already
car thefts, purse snatchings, muggings, etc. just don't make the paper
.... they are too numerous and the "civic fathers" (I use that term VERY
LOOSELY!) to be worthy of any mention ... I thought this was the
arsehole of he world, but in speaking to others, it is going on
everywhere in California ...

And then, you wonder why everything that isn't locked up, nailed down,
or protected by a security guard won't stay still for ten minutes ...

I think there should be a law that every public servant has to adopt a
few dozen of these "good boys and girls."
