The Illinois Republican party is screwed up now and would still be screwed up if Illinois and Chicago split. Instead of blaming their problems on Chicago, why don't they run better candidates? Of course, some dim bulb Illinois Republican thinks they can fix their problems if only they split off from Chicago. Probably they've missed the fact that the Chicago suburbs are generally even MORE LIBERAL than Chicago itself.
