Recently purchased a YB400 PE. On AM it has an background hum (not a
hiss). It is there on strong local stations and distant stations. My
Panasonic RFB65 in the same postion has no hum, nor does my cheap
portable Sony.

Is this characteristic of the YB400 PE. I'm returning it to Radio Shack
for a new one or if it is characteristic will purchase a Sony 7600G
