Default This is no time for a month's vacation, Georgie, your war's not won. Our troops are dying.

( Heard this on 13.655 USB )
The simple truth is that the interests of the Bush administration's primary
constituency, corporate America, do not coincide with the fundamental interests
of workaday Americans. On the business side of this divide, increased profits
are realized by showing the door to as many workers as possible, and squeezing
the remainder to the bursting point.

And then there's the ominous trend of sending higher-skilled jobs overseas to
low-wage places like India and China, an upscale reprise of the sweatshop
phenomenon that erased so many U.S. manufacturing jobs over the past quarter
century.

Working Americans need jobs just to survive. But the Bush administration
equates the national interest with corporate interests, and in that equation
workers can only lose.

- so what? that makes it worthwhile quoting? i hear lots of stuff on the
radio, but don't clog up newsgroups with idiot posts..

- interesting and curious this fascination with the executive branch... the
real power in the U.S. government is not in the presidency, but in the
congressional arm which determines the budget... it amazes me that some
people don't know how government works...

- this is, of course, coming from a noted economist and wealthy individual..

- actually, the opposite is true: the 'unskilled' jobs are being sent overseas
as they should be... we don't have time to waste on unskilled tasks and
anywhere else but the U.S. is Third World anyway...

- funny how all these idiots bitch about America, but all want to come here

- needing a job 'to survive' as opposed to what? sucking off the Public teat?

- workers as in 'i'm so freakin' stupid i never finished school so the
government owes me a living?' give me a break... the idea is to make the
most amount of money in the shortest amount of time with the least amount
of effort... if you're not born into money, tough noogies - go make some
money... work smarter, not harder and use your brain...

- btw, i grew up in an orphanage in the middle of what is now a free-kill
crack zone... but instead of being a whining apologist and looking for a
free handout or bitching about life, i decided to do something about it,
so i worked... starting pulling weeds at age 12, pumping gas at 13, made
sandwiches as a short-order cook...

- i never blamed any U.S. president for my lot in life, and i've worked for
everything i have... i've never asked for money from anyone (of course,
i've also never been in debt either - unlike lots of folks who don't
know how to manage money)...

- i worked my way through school... i may not have a PhD, but i feel quite
confident about my abilities - i don't like paying taxes, don't agree with
many administrations (Republican or Democratic), but instead of whining,
mewling and puking purple tears about something i have no control over,
i vote in all local, county, state and federal elections...

- people like you make me sick...
