Default Question 7600G

Is the Sony ICF-SW7600G suitable for listening to aviation & maritine HF
transmissions ?
Is it the nature of those broadcasts to sound like they are robotic and
unhuman like, not like usual radio transmissions which are quite clear.

Cheers

I have had no big troubles listening to VOLMETs with mine; the 7600G is
generally regarded as having rather good SSB reception for what it is.
If sensitivity on the whip isn't enough, this can easily be helped with
a few meters of wire; in a low signal area (I'd guess NZ is one) even a
normal longwire antenna should work quite well (should intermod problems
appear, use a preselector).

I would not recommend this type of reciever for serious
listening to this type of transmissinos.
Lack op selectivity, easy overload with long aerials, SSB
reception mediocre.
