One of my accounts has been getting completely inundated with the fake
Microsoft Update and "Undeliverable Message" virus attempts...I'm talking
about a CONTINUOUS STREAM of copies of the same thing over and over.

This has just started happening to one of my accounts. I deleted 725 on
Friday through webmail. I'm about to close this account.

Try the Mail Washer www.mailwasher.net After using it's bounce back
feature for awhile, it will stop. That fake microsoft update with a virus
attached is great to bounce back!!

Does anyone know if anything is being done to stop this
mess? I haven't heard a word on the news about this one.

Fortunately, it's a junk account. The motherfu**er that is spamming me
keeps changing the domain, From line and Subject line so I have to
constantly update my filters to keep up with it. SPAMMERS, DIE!!!

Why don't you learn something about the Internet, and how viruses are
spread, before opening your mouth and showing us all how ignorant you are?

Viruses hijack the user's address book and sends copies of itself to
everybody in it. There is no "motherfu**er" - this is a result of 10,000s
of infected computers.

And after you bounce back a few thousand of them, you may very well find
that your ISP has identified you as a SPAMMER and will cancel your account!

Bouncing back does absolutely no good, clogs the Internet even more, and
could cost you your ISP account.

I suspect that the originators harvested addresses from various newsgroups
and websites to kick it off. I've gotten far more of these than can be
explained by being in other people's address books.

Number one-someone started it! That person should be executed!

Same here, at a guess 100 MG's a day. And since I only have 10 Mg's
of storage for e-mail and real e-mail is dropped as the box is full
all the time.

A good reason for not using a real email address on newsgroups.

It's reassuring to know you can always count on someone to let you know how
ignorant you are.

Let me clarify...the motherfu**er I'm referring to is the guy who started
it. You will agree that a single person has to start something like that,
won't you? For every malevolent bit of software we encounter, there had to
be one person who wrote it.

Needless to say, the account is no longer.

I may be ignorant, but you could use a little more work on your politeness
skills.
