Bill,

Congratulations on your new radio and welcome back to sw listening. My first
sw radio was the YB400 (the original dark version) and I listened to it
constantly for several years. I used the reel-up wire with it quite a
bit...really picks up the sensitivity in the daytime.

Although I now own more radios (should I say, more than I should!), you will
basically be able to hear most of what's out there on the YB400. Have a
great time!

Jay

Yesterday, I bought a Grundig YB 400/E World Receiver from Radio Shack. It
doesn't have the bells and whistles that more expensive radios. However,

it
does seem to be a solid radio that does a good job of DXing. After being

out
of listening to shortwave radio for a few years, it's going to feel good

to
get back into it again.

Is there any way that I can get amateur radio maps that show the call

letter
prefixes for North America and the world? I'd appreciate any ideas on

where
I can get some maps.
