No he didn't. He lied like he always lies.
If the pills aren't in an amber bottle with a pharmacy label with your name on it; if they instead come in a Ziploc bag; they ain't prescription medications. They are street drugs. They are illicit narcotics. When someone exchanges a box of money for a box of bills he is ''scoring dope''. Limbaugh is just another POS narcotics addict junkie who will have to hit bottom and hate his old self if he expects to get better. People who throw their lives away for a molecule have much bigger problems than a pinched nerve in their spine. He has some very deep ''issues''. Demons, to be sure. Admitted complete responsibility? After 6 years!!! He had no choice but to say something. He is making deals like crazy to stay out of jail. He is going to roll over like a scared little girl. I'd give a million bucks for a tape of him dope sick... Plenty of good people have fallen into the trap of addiction when given
painkillers over a long term. It should also be noted that he tried short-term addiction therapies twice, but was not able to overcome it in that brief period. This time, he will have a month, and he will also have a huge outpouring of support from his fans that he never had before. Rush will do just fine. It's obvious you're preturbed that he's been able to almost single-handedly demolish your socialist liberal agenda over the last few years with a three-hour radio show. His support of personal freedoms, small government living within a modest tax environment, foreign policy in the true best interest of US citizens, and a belief in God have made great advances over the last few years. And that's exactly why twits like you take such glee in his problems. More moderate people have been taken aback by the venom and hate coming from the left on this matter. You have done yourself no favors. I can only imagine how well he's going to do when he returns, now that you and your ilk are being seen for what you are. Won't he be back for jail? Hasn't Rush repeatedly said something to
the effect that drug addicts should be in jail? We must presume innocence prior to guilt, but if we are to believe his former employee, there seems to the possiblity of illegal activity. It doesn't matter how he saved AM radio or the country for that matter. He reminds me of Bill Bennett, rather hypocritical as he was. Will Rush be given a fair hearing and take the consequences? I suspect his fame and fortune will give him a pass so he can continue telling us on his radio show who should be in jail. |

Rush didn't "save" anything; he has helped to destroy AM radio in the USA. Of course he had help from Clear Channel, Infinity/Viacom, and the FCC! ![]() "Richard Cranium" wrote in message om... Rush didn't "save" anything; he has helped to destroy AM radio in the USA. I have to disagree, Richard. The only thing Rush "destroyed" was the careers of dozens of talentless "time & temp" jocks when he took over their time-slots. It sounds like you're just upset with his ideology (and the fact that he's been successful) to me. It's no secret that after suffering significant listener decline (to FM) over the last two decades, the "talk" format has saved AM radio in the USA. And Rush is the king of talk radio, fostering scores of imitators, both local and syndicated. Like him or hate him, Rush played a very large part in reestablishing the commercial viability of AM radio, because without ratings, commercial radio was doomed to continue its decline. It was only after Limbaugh sucessfully syndicated and aced his time slots that we saw the way paved for others, including Art Bell. It is simply intellectually dishonest not to give the Rush Limbaugh radio program the credit deserved for having done this with respect to AM radio. You may not like it, but it's the truth. Of course he had help from Clear Channel, Infinity/Viacom, and the FCC! Exactly what innuendo are you hinting at here? That the FCC, Clear Channel and Viacom have colluded with a secret, sinister plan to push Limbaugh on the world? Listen, I'm no fan of Clear Channel or Infinity (or Powell's FCC either for that matter). I like the idea of a lot of independent owners competing with each other for listeners. But statements like he had help from them (implying some sort of agenda) are just silly. Frankly, I don't see what any of these outfits have to do with Rush, other than that a few of their stations are among the over 600 that carry his broadcasts. Our local New Orleans 50KW'er, WWL-AM isn't affilliated with Clear Channel or Infinity, but carries his show, as do scores of independent broadcasters. Are you just hissy-fitting about big media? If so, say so -- lots of us would agree. Please try to keep in mind that the guy is only an ENTERTAINER, not a political guru. So was Johnny Carson. That doesn't marginalize his influence. There was a time when commentary in Carson's opening monologue for "The Tonight Show" was acknowledged to have an enormous effect upon public opinion. The same has been true for Rush in the past (as he and his audience found each other), and will probably continue when he returns. Just my observations... -- Stinger ATS-909 FR-200 CCRadio+ |
