Radio Shack sold them in the mid-to-late 80's for $80 regular price,
probably $20 or $30 less on sale.

It's not a bad radio, but not at all remarkable either. The analog tuning
is better-than-average for cheap portables: stabler than many, but with
not a lot of dial resolution.

The band selection switches wearing out is a common problem - mine suffers
from the same issues and it was never abused.
