I need some input on some headphones I can use on a DX-394 receiver. I hear I need some monaural headphones? Any recommended models? I highly recommend Radio Shack's "Racing Headphone" (part number 330-1198) if you are looking for a monaural, lightweight headphone that completely covers your ears. I bought a set after reading reviews on eHam.com and elsewhere, and have been very pleased with them. I use them with my Icom R75 and they sound great. They come with a 1/8 inch monaural plug, so you may have to, as I did, get an adapter plug if your radio uses a 1/4 inch headphone jack. The only (slight) downside is that the coiled headphone cord is a bit short if you are going to be sitting back some distance from your radio (in which case, you'll have to buy or make a headphone extension cord). If there aren't Radio Shack stores in Canada, the headphones are available over the web: http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=33%2D1198 Here's the link to the eHam reviews in case you're interested: http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/2151 - Paul |
