I don't know how much these radios
cost though. For the stock radio (which should still come with a free UT106 DSP unit at most retailers) you should expect to pay around $500 to $550 before shipping. However, you may want to try the Used Equipment lists at Grove, Universal Radio, or even AES (Amateur Electronic Supply) this time of year. You may be able to find a used or demo model for less than $500, with the DSP unit already installed (I don't really need or use the DSP feature much, but you need it in order to have the notch filter, which I do use often)... If you have no qualms with a non-warranted unit, try eBay for kicks... they tend to have a few on there at any given time, and they tend to be less expensive than brand new. Then again, new gets you a warranty and all that such things imply. Best of luck- Linus |
