Wrong... The tip came from a family member, if you can believe three
different news sources. They get the 25 plus the short-wave radio Saddam didn't have. There wasn't a darn thing in the hole except a fan for aid. Don't you watch the correct new source? The ONLY U.S. news source on the scene was "F O X", with a camera. grenner wrote: No one gets the 25 mil. The tip was a result of an interrogation GR "elg110254" wrote in message ... Since Madass Hussein had all sorts of Marantz hi-fi gear, it was probably a Grundig receiver ! Now for the $25 million question: who gets the reward? And who got to keep those Marantz units? |

CBS news said this morning that Saddam had a shortwave receiver with him at the farm house where the spiderhole was located. Hmmmm... I wonder what brand it was? It wouldn't be very good reception 8 foot underground whatever it was. If they ran a wire from the antenna up through the ventilator shaft to ground level, it'd probably work. Until the rotating fan blades cut through the wire! Simon |

It sure couldn't have been a Sat-800. There's not enough room for him
and that 'portable' radio in the hole. Hehehe, no doubt! Great radio, but HUGE, for a portable. Hell, it's huge for a tabletop! If he could have found a slightly larger rat hole to hide in, AND acquired one of the larger, heavier boatanchor receivers, he could have blocked the entrance to the hole with it, requiring a dozen men to move it, AND kept himself warm at night. :-) Linus |

I have to clarify that the shortwave receiver was found in the farm
house with a longwire antenna and NOT in the spider hole as everybody has been speculating here. |
