I keep my "transistors" where it's nice and warm!!!

The colder a transistor gets the lower it's thermal noise. That means
our receivers would be even better for DX'ing. This is why the
front-ends of radio telescopes are cryogenically cooled.

You are right, also for printed boards, the colder like way down the
faster they run
