Default What's the Temperature out there Burr... ?

- All of 7.5 degrees above with wind whipping the snow all over the place.

Heard theres the Threat of rolling blackouts unless power consumption goes
down.

I see birds flying around out there; skimming out over the Ice
How do they do it ?

Going out in a bit to get antifreeze for the car..

Must be sweltering out where you live;
Tell us about the sun blocker you have to put on !

The thought will keep us all warm...

Listening to Jazz / Miles Davis (??) on 9.580 ( Radio Australia )

I'm up north in Ridgecrest and it did get very cold last night, it's
33f outside right now. The sun is coming up and I can feel it on my back
through the window. We normally have a 40 degree spread in temperatures
so it will be around 60 something today, I may head south later today to
get out of this cold.
I had a "Rolling Blackout" last night, I turned off the lights and
rolled up in the electric blanket.

The hummingbirds are feeding at all three feeders, the big birds are
feeding in the yard on the seed I put out last night.

Aren't you a little late putting antifreeze in your car??

Yes, if I take the Porsche with the top down I have to put on lots of
"PF22" Sun block and hope the wind doesn't dry my skin out to much.

I have some Miles Davis and Lional Hampton as will as lots of other jazz.

Have a nice day,

Stay Warm.

Burr

I find it interesting that the upper midwest goes through this weather every
year ... but when it hits the east coast ... it's national news. It's no news
folks ... it's a real winter.

It's national news when it hits the east coast because it effects millions and
millions of people. It's not national news if the upper midwest experiences
zero temps because it only effects the 500 people living there and the
millions and millions of moose, elk and bear that live there too. What's more
newsworthy? The fact that it is cold in the upper midwest where it is cold
like this every winter. Or on the east coast where it rarely gets below zero.
Odd weather makes news. Just like if New York emptied out and moved to
Milwaukee. Now that would be news.

Yeah, such weather isn't all that unusual here, either. I don't follow
the national weather news much, though. Do such cold snaps in Chicago
make the national news?

NY's current weather is what we in Minnesota would call "a little nippy".
