This, via Glenn Hauser:
For propagational reasons, WWCR is considering moving WWCR-3 from 12160 to 9985 at 1300-1600 UT. 9985 will be tested Mon Jan 19 at 1300-1400 UT. Based on results, may continue Tuesday and onwards as late as 1600. Since WWCR-4 will be operating on 9475 at the same time, there is a possibility of mixing products between the two on 8965 and 10495. Although theoretically at least 80 dB down, sensitive receivers may be able to pick them up. WWCR wants to know if you can hear WWCR on either of these possible mixing products. Please note if they are interfering with anything, supply details of your receiver and antenna, location, etc. Hearing the mixing products would be quite unlikely beyond the maximum signal areas at first hop in North America. It is just as useful to get reports of the mixes NOT being heard, at least closer in, as reports that they are being heard. If you would like a yearly calendar/planner booklet as a token of appreciation, while supplies last, include your P-mail address. Reports on this should go to Glenn Hauser, woradio at yahoo.com who will forward them to WWCR. ----------------------------------------------------------- Steve Holland, MI Drake R7, R8 and R8B |

The signal on 9985 had a consistent S7 to S8 signal strength here. During the same time frame I had the Drake R8 monitoring 8965 and the R8B monitoring 10495. I noted no mixing products here on 8965. I did note however a het on 10495 toward the latter end of the broadcast (But could get no audio). The het left the air at exactly the same time WWCR left 9985 at 1357. So perhaps there was something to that. I also checked 9475 ocassionally with the R8, which was giving an S9+ signal. I was using antennas of 70' and 200' in length, switching between the two. This may be a stupid question. Do you use the same antenna on the R7 and the R8 when you are comparing? DJ in Indiana |

Yes, at that time I was using the same antenna on all 3 receivers. Switching between the 70' and 200' wires. DJ in Indiana |
