Hi Matteo,
Aircraft and police operate on VHF and UHF frequencies, which are usually
only availalable on scanners or high end table top models. Some portables do
have aircraft and weather and even TV, but few carry police. Some high end
scanners do have a tremendous frequency range, so they would cover VLF to
UHF so that you could monitor Longwave, AM broadcast, Shortwave and weather,
TV and on up into police bands.

I was planning on buying a SONY ICF-SW35 with the following specs

Frequency RangeFM
: 76.0-108MHzLW ............ FM
: 150-285kHzAM (MW) ............ AM (MW)
: 530-1710kHzSW ............ AM (MW) am extends from 530 -

1710
: 2250-26100kHz ............ SW extends from 1710 - 30.00


Will I be able to get taxi, police? Can you guys recommend a good radio
that can get FM,AM,TV 1-2, Aircraft, Weather, SW1-4. Thanks
