Well, no. I would suggest something from Sangean or Radio Shack . What they
have on the page certainly has most of the bands you want, and will work
without AC power, but I have grave doubts it would have the other things you
probably would like to have, such a a keypad to input frequencies directly,
single sideband, and overall specifications. While you will hear some police
on the frequencies they say the receiver can pick up, most agencies in big
cities are going to be well above that frequency range in the 800 to 900 Mhz
band. As I mentioned, I doubt you will find a good portable that has the
police and aircraft bands in an affordable price range, unless you can
afford something costing several hundred dollars or more.

I would suggest a PRO 94 Radio Shack scanner for listening to police,
aircraft and the many other exciting things in vhf-uhf bands, and a
shortwave receiver. Grundig makes a nice receiver, and for a starter
receiver, Sangean makes some nice models. Pick up a copy of Monitoring Times
Magazine or Popular Communications or browse the web to see what is
available and the price ranges. Passport to Worldband Radio has an extensive
section on a broad range of receivers they tested and reviewed ( and is
pretty handy for identifying stations you hear). Hope that helps.

So Maximus I should just go with the product on this link

I mean for $105.00 and I get police, aircraft and weather that would be a
good deal. What do you think about the radio on the link I provided. I was
looking for something without a crank, but if I can't find another radio
with all those features I might as well get that one. Please let me know
what you think.
