He is. Bush was in the national guard. How do you avoid military service by
joining the military?

Where is your *proof* that Bush is a draft *dodger*?

I think you might be a bit confused with your usage of the word.

It's all a matter of degree. W was keeping the skies of Houston, Texas
safe from commies-when he actually showed up, which wasn't often.
Meanwhile, John Kerry and a few million other Americans who for the most
part didn't have W's family pull were fighting real live (not imaginary)
Viet Cong in Vietnam, which I would say was quite a bit more dangerous
than Houston. Even Al Gore, who spent his tour of duty in Saigon, could
hear enemy fire all night.

Quit being an idiot and think. If the US government didn't deem that an
important enough position, they would have pulled everyone out of the
national guard and put them in the marines. Pull your head out. I have
combat veteran status but I damned sure would not count my contribution as
any more important than someone in the national guard, reserves or coast
guard. They are all service to their country and none are any more important
than another. It is that way in civilian life too. There are no unimportant
jobs. If it was unimportant, it wouldn't exist.
