Default FS: RS DX-396

I bought this DX-396 last year during the Radio Shack closeout of
portable radios.

Opened once to test and stored since. Excellent Condition

$40.00 shipped CONUS!

I have one of these as well. The batteries died and now the thing
won't work. I tried the shorting trick, left it alone for weeks,
nothing seems to make it come back to life.

Suggestions? offers?

I have one also. I love it. Amazed the batteries ran down.....Radio Neder did
a battery test and it worked for over 250 hours on one set of cells.

Will it work when plugged into a wall adapter? Did you test the replacement
batteries to insure their good? As a last resort, put in fresh batteries, turn
it on and tap it slightly while on to see if that works. Could be a loose
connection somewhere.

I tried all possible battery combo's, even backwards, noting. Even
push in the little reset button, nothing. It was less than 4 months
old. What to do?
