Our media operate on the assumption that we Americans are all greedy subliterate couch potatos haunted by futile sports fantasies and convinced our fat asses were ordained by God to sit on, and **** on, the rest of the world. Yours truly, Leonard I have to go along with that. Although a number of BBC programs have been copied by the U.S. networks they always seem to be dumbed down, even the ones that were dumb to start with. My favourite is the BBC "Is it Buoyant?" which on CBS has become "Will it Float?". I guess 'they' figured that buoyant was too difficult a word for North Americans to understand. Dave |

So then; "Are you saying the US is not a white Christian fundamentalist country" Doesn't that sound better? I wasn't quoting, it is my view in my words. Also, "White" is your word, not mine. In the US a saddeningly large proportion of all races seem to suffer from the gross lack of judgement, intelligence and free thought that sums up christianity. Unless a loop-topped black Hum Vee rolls down the street in front of your pad,
listening for your radio's local oscillator, shortwave listening is about as anonymous as anything can be. Bill, K5BY |

Considering forwarding this to the authorities??? That's simply hilarious. I suggest that YOU get back on your meds. Valium might help a little, but probably shouldn't be used long-term. A psychiatrist can advise you. Weekly visits to a counselor will do wonders for you, too. Best of luck for a fairly speedy recovery. Remember, there's no shame connected with mental illness. So don't hesitate to get the help you so obviously need. About my thoughts too... Erm... Telemon, just a thought. Are you a creationist? Les |

I have had counseling and I have been evaluated Don. The counseling and evaluations were part of a curriculum. Never been on ³Meds² and I do not do drugs so no thanks for the Valium. How about yourself? You sound like you have great familiarity with ³Meds² and Valium. You would have to be a real whack job yourself if you think what Les wrote is OK. About my thoughts too... Erm... Telemon, just a thought. Are you a creationist? Blow all the conspiracy theories you have in one rant? Is the political discussion boring you already? I do not know why you would ask anyone a question of this type because with your imagination you could assign to me whatever answer you desire. -- Telamon Ventura, California |
