What's a Tecsun PL-200? HOw is it different from a BCL-2000? Reply to: Brent Reynolds, Atlanta, GA USA The PL-200 is similar to the PL-230 and Grundig YB-550, but not a "vertical" type radio... standard shape. Neither has SSB. From what I've read it has tinny speaker sound but is otherwise a fine radio. Being small, that is probably unavoidable. It's Chinese and runs on 220v a/c or with AA batteries. It comes with rechargeable 1100s. There are some for sale on eBay, mainly from a very reliable dealer named Liypn. Here's his eBay store address http://www.stores.ebay.com/id=68650377&ssPageName=L2 He includes a manual in English and 110/220v converter free. The red one looks pretty cool. The PL-220 ad from there mentions 2 AA batteries, and 3 AA batteries. One is a typo, but I don't know which. Which ever is right is what one would get with the radio. I almost got one, then decided on the Degen DE1102 from Liypn. |
