Default R7A record price?

This R7A may be headed for a record Ebay sale -- quite
amazing, with six days to go, already near $2,000!

If this does sell in the $2k + range it will certainly push
excellent condition R7A prices into the stratosphere usually
reserved for rare super-receivers such as JRC NRD 301/302
and some others...

I still find this to be simply amazing! R7's selling for $600-700 and
R7A's hitting the stratosphere!

They are the same darn radio!, except for the model number on the darn
front!

The R7A came standard with the NB-7 and the 500Hz filter and 9KHz filter-

still, given the going price for the 2 filters and an NB-7, it hardly
explains the huge price difference some are willing to pay to have the A on
the front panel.

They're not the same radio! My R7A has a direct
ionospheric link to every remaining low power station
still on SW!

There was no 9 kHz 'filter'. Merely a wire across the place where a filter
could be inserted.

Us 'po folk I guess will be stuck with the R7's. I just wonder what happened to
Drakes stock of those small parts that slide in the front of the radio and
'turn it into' an R7A?

Absolutely true. But why does the 'A' command such a high price vs. the
R7?

It's ridiculous!

Cuz , it's e-pay. The land of the gullable. Crap, the R7a is a decent
radio, but it ain't *that* good. They sold those for a fraction of
that not too long ago. "pre-epay". E-pay and it's bidding wars really
screw with peoples idea of an items worth. These gets bad with other
items too. Look at geetars...They are selling older Les Pauls and
Strats for *obscene* prices. Really ridiculous...And the sick part is
most that pay that much don't even play them or ever plan to. They
hang them on a wall and look at them. "Someone get a rope..." MK
