Chicle is native to Northern Central America and Southern Mexico. The name
appears to be either Náhatl or Mayan in origin. Chiclayo is not in a gum producing area. "Maximus" wrote in message ink.net... Hi ![]() I know chicle is grown in south and central america, so I was curious if the name of the peruvian city of Chiclayos was related to chicle - specifically, if the town was named after people who harvest chicle which used to be used ion chewing gum if I am not mistaken. I got part of an answer on google: http://www.bmts.com/~dibaudjimoh/page20.html La Dolce di Far Niente |
