Hi,
I just bought my first SW reciever, a 7600GR, and I would like to improve reception. I have been using the whip with the reel antenna that was supplied with the radio and just the other day I attached about 24ft of light gauge speaker wire to the whip. This improved reception noticably, even more so when I tossed the wire out the window, where it is now. My question is how much more wire could I add without any risk to the reciever, and is there any other easy add-ons i could do to this make shift antenna to give me greater reception? Thank you. |
