They make a pretty good case for a "heavy-lifting" stealth transport blimp
that can go about four times faster than conventional sea transports, and
which is buildable with current technologies.

Not even remotely its nighttime debut. And it hasn't yet made its daytime
debut.

It didn't -- the debut was mostly the midwest. The space.com article
mentions sightings near military bases, for instance:

"NIDS has followed up on their study of last year that correlated sightings
of large triangular or delta-shaped objects with Air Force Materiel Command
and Air Mobility Command bases throughout the United States. Matches were
made suggesting flight paths in and out of certain base locations."
"The new assessment focuses on what four police officers, and more than a
dozen others observed on January 5, 2000: A large, silent, low-flying black
triangular shaped object. It flew on a southwesterly direction between
Highland, Illinois and Dupo, located less than 30 miles (48 kilometers) from
St. Louis, Missouri."

If you see UFO's you must be from Pine Bush, NY.

Something about the beer up there makes everyone see UFO's

Offhand, I don't recall where Pine Bush is, but when I lived a few
summers in Western New York State, there was a beer called "Utica
Club". I could believe you'd see almost anything after a few bottles of
that radiator cleaner!

The Aurora Project Space Plane, that is configured as a triangle was first
conceived at Wright Patterson AFB in the mid 80's. As a matter of fact,
there was even a billboard up about, but not for long. It was on the
highway ramp that lead off of the Dayton International AP. I used to pass it
everyday on my way to and from work. It read. "Welcome to Dayton Ohio, Home
of the New Space Plane Project." It was a beautiful Billboard, depicting
the large triangle shaped craft, against a darkened sky background. I missed
it when they took it down only a couple of weks after it was put there.
Since then I have read many articles about the Aurora Project. Ther is even
a B-Movie out about it, called "Aurora, Operation Intercept." I have it in
my collection.
It has been observed quite a few times as the center of formations off
shore. You can punch it inot a search engine and find out a lot of
interesting stuff. The governerment officailly denies it's existance. But,
aircraft enthusiasts insist it's in use today.

Seems I remember sightings of those in AZ. also. Phoenix I think it
was...Was heapum big talk on the Art Bell show at that
time...Actually, I don't doubt that people see these things. But I
think *most* are human built machines. As for the original poster, to
me it sounded like a blimp, but who knows. IE: the goodyear blimp can
be set up to look just like one of these UFOs. It has running lights,
and also the puter controlled "screen" on the sides that flash lights,
pix, and messages. The blimp has a tail much like the one described.
The blimp makes a weird buzzy noise like described. It can also be
nearly silent as described if the wind is blowing away from you and
the blimp, and the throttle is low. The only hang is being able to see
stars through it. You can not see stars through a goodyear blimp. You
might see ground lights twinkle off of the side light screens possibly
though, if it were low enough. Maybe these could give the illusion of
stars?
The blimp or blimps, "not sure how many are active right now, and I
heard one had a recent mishap", have also been flying around lately. I
saw one about a month ago here in Houston. The airship America used to
be based here north of Houston up I-45 towards Dallas. Used to see it
all the time back in my younger years, but they moved away, and closed
that hanger years ago..

But like I said, I don't dis all the stories. The ones I saw were
moving in ways not possible with current human "mid 70's" technology.
Not even with current technology for that matter...I've heard of the
"pulse propulsion schemes, etc"...The "things" I saw moved almost
instantly, and in erratic opposite directions. It would sit still a
while, and then jump off in a different direction a few degrees, and
sit. Then jump back another way and sit, etc...Finally, it just
flitted away.
Was dang weird... And what is weirder, is I saw the same thing about
2-3 years later. Being they were so far away, they just looked like
bright *flying* stars. Which would be normal when viewing a far off
object that is still brightly lit by the setting sun to the west. It
was still semi daylight...Kinda like the shuttle looks when viewed
from the ground making an evening pass, and still lit by the sun. But
what I saw was no bird. I've seen a zillion of those. They make single
overhead passes, and go away. The ones I saw "flitted" around like a
hummingbird, and went away. It was no far off chopper as it moved way
too fast across the sky. BTW, the sky's were fairly clear in both
cases if I remember right. They almost had to be to see a distant
object like that...I wonder about possible mirages...But with a clear
sky? Dunno...
