Wow, do you mean that they have an opinion of their own and are allowed
to air it unlike other media organizations in the "free" U.S of A? How
unpatriotic of them! Freedom fries all the way! I'm not defending
communist Cuba or N. Korea, but just open your mind and think that maybe
you are not getting the 'real' news all the time.

And not surprisingly, they seem to be favoring Kerry as well.

There was some right wing gal on Fox News(sic) Channel tonight claiming
that Radio Pyongyang was singing the praises of John Kerry everyday. Can
anyone confirm that this is occurring?

I can neither confirm or deny it (mainly because I can't
get Pyongyang), but I have to say it wouldn't suprise
me in the slightest. North Korea is an old style
Communist country (which is also going down the toilet;
the two facts are not unrelated) and uses old fashioned
propaganda methods. To their mind Bush is the enemy;
Kerry is against Bush; therefore, they support Kerry,
regardless of his politics.

The only thing that would make the slightest difference
to them would be if Kerry said North Korea was an
incompetant dictatorship that had to be deposed. THEN
Pyongyang would treat him like the Anti-Christ, and
call for his execution as an international war criminal.

You can ignore North Korea. What they say is of no
importance in U.S. domestic politics.

Indeed, Radio Habana IS a pleasure. Ernie is a kick to listen
to; and frankly, if there's bad news for the U.S. out there,
you can count on the folks at R.H. to dig it out, emboss it,
and broadcast it to all the world, even if the American media
is studiously avoiding it...

Mar 5 AP Wi "GOP Wants Ads That Criticize Bush Pulled"

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Republican National Committee on Friday asked
about 250 television stations to pull a liberal group's ads critical
of President Bush..........

I wonder why this AP item hasn't been covered by US media.

Super Pissed Dad March 8th 04 12:22 AM

I've listened to Havana's "news" a few times, and they seem to be more
60s type "New Left" than Pyongyang, which is more old line Stalinist.
Two completely different branches of Communism.

I have a contact I met thru Radio Netherlands in Cuba...He ask for simple items
like Celine Dion CD, old magazines, etc He always sends me postcards or some
other junk that has no value. I attribute this to his socio-economic status.
Imagine if I had a pen-pal in North Korea~what would that be like ?

Whoop, you're right, I'm wrong. I'm embarrassed. O_O;

But at any rate he's simply a

His technical and blodging skills are impressive, though.

I expect we'll be able to say that of Radio Habana, itself.
Once the Great Leader dies (assuming he ever actually does,
and doesn't stay alive for decades more just to hack off
future U.S. Presidents), the changes in Cuban society should
be dramatic and fascinating to watch.

Seen it before, and I know with certainty that I'll see it again!

This is not an indictment of Arnie, everyone must operate within the

In current Cuban society, especially if they want to KEEP
living...

I think a great deal will depend on Fidel's Brother. They say he's the
nasty one.
