There was some right wing gal on Fox News(sic) Channel tonight claiming
that Radio Pyongyang was singing the praises of John Kerry everyday. Can
anyone confirm that this is occurring?

Here's an article:

http://straitstimes.asia1.com.sg/world/story/0,4386,238539,00.html

A quote from the article:

" His speeches are being broadcast on Radio Pyongyang and reported in
glowing terms by the Korea Central News Agency (KCNA)."

Here's an article on it. It would be logical for him to want to be rid of
Bush, and hope for a Democrat to return to the ridiculous Clinton policy of
payoffs (while Jong-il pretends not to build nukes).

North Korea warms to Kerry presidency bid
By Andrew Ward in Seoul and James Harding in Washington
Published: March 4 2004 20:24 | Last Updated: March 4 2004 20:24

North Korea's state-controlled media are well known for reverential
reporting about Kim Jong-il, the country's dictatorial leader.

But the Dear Leader is not the only one getting deferential treatment from
the communist state's propaganda machine: John Kerry, the presumptive
Democratic candidate, is also getting good play in Pyongyang.

In the past few weeks, speeches by the Massachusetts senator have been
broadcast on Radio Pyongyang and reported in glowing terms by the Korea
Central News Agency (KCNA), the official mouthpiece of Mr Kim's communist
regime.

The apparent enthusiasm for Mr Kerry may reflect little more than a "better
the devil you don't know" mentality among the North Korean apparatchiks.
Rather than dealing with President George W. Bush and hawkish officials in
his administration, Pyongyang seems to hope victory for the Democratic
candidate on November 2 would lead to a softening in US policy towards the
country's nuclear weapons programme

If its communist anti-America propoganda you want to hear, check out
Radio Havana at frequency 6.000 AM in the evenings USA time. One of
their favorite "news" topics concerns five political prisoners they
claim the US is holding. Also, much anti - 'war on terror' rhetoric.
And not surprisingly, they seem to be favoring Kerry as well.

I've listened to Havana's "news" a few times, and they seem to be more
60s type "New Left" than Pyongyang, which is more old line Stalinist.
Two completely different branches of Communism.

I can neither confirm or deny it (mainly because I can't
get Pyongyang), but I have to say it wouldn't suprise
me in the slightest. North Korea is an old style
Communist country (which is also going down the toilet;
the two facts are not unrelated) and uses old fashioned
propaganda methods. To their mind Bush is the enemy;
Kerry is against Bush; therefore, they support Kerry,
regardless of his politics.

The only thing that would make the slightest difference
to them would be if Kerry said North Korea was an
incompetant dictatorship that had to be deposed. THEN
Pyongyang would treat him like the Anti-Christ, and
call for his execution as an international war criminal.

You can ignore North Korea. What they say is of no
importance in U.S. domestic politics.

This is not proof of anything. Has anyone actually heard this so-called
praise of Kerry from Pyongyang radio?

Obviously the individual who wrote the article!?

Yes they are as irrelevant as the American populace when it comes to
actually mattering when it comes to U.S. national politics. The
twiddle dee and twiddle dum confidence game called U.S. politics
forges onward. Very sad.
