Moving
I will be moving in a bit, to a new location here in Issaquah. The receiver
is packed away, and the antenna taken down. The new apartment will be a lot healthier, but they do not allow outdoor antennas. Since they seem to be reasonable people, I am hoping some compromise can be reached. Meantime, I will monitor developments here. Some of you seem to be making exciting discoveries, and it is good to be able to share in them. Strength and Honor |

One Mop ( or similar appliance) One piece of twine or string. One Small soft edged weight. PROCEDU See how far it is in between two windows of your Apt.. Measure out a piece of string this distance + ~ 6 - 8 feet. Attach a small soft edged weight to it. ( Look Outside to see no one is looking !! ) Secure curious household pets Open Both Windows. Insert mop part way out one] Close that window to secure mop handle Run over to the other window QUICK! Take the twine with the weight on it & (without risking life & limb) Toss the string over the mop sticking out the other window. Secure the end of that end of the string with a bit of slack Close that window Run over to the other window with the mop that has the twine handing down off it Pull the mop in Close the window. ( Breath deeply ) NOW.... Attach the stranded wire to the end of the string. Slightly open window Run over to the oher window. Open it & pull in string until wire / string connection is through.. Pull in enough so that wire will reach SWR Attach wire to SWR. Close window. - That's basically it. Modify as needed. You can take Square stick -on cord holders Camouflage them with magic Marker color , & Silicone glue them to the outside corners of the window, Then loop more wire ( DONT FALL OUT WHEN DOING THIS !!) around the cord holders. This makes the antenna longer. repeat for other windows..This should help lots.. ( Works for me !!) |

Maximus,
They do not allow VISIBLE antennas. Search the net for stealth antennas. Some people run them in the attic, inside the gutter at the eaves of the house, especially if plastic gutters. Also, you may be able to run a wire UNDER the eaves or up the gable end. If you put the antenna so they cannot see it, and thus other tenants can't see it, you'll probably be all right. Their point is that if YOU are allowed to run a very small wire over to the nearest tree SOMEONE ELSE will want to run the antenna of their choice and pretty soon the entire place is cluttered with satellite dishes, CB antennas, TV antennas, etc. After a bad wind storm or two some of them have radials broken or dangling and pretty soon the whole place really looks a mess. Be VERY discrete and don't make it look like an antenna. Some hams have donated flag poles to their housing developments -- with an antenna hidden INSIDE the flag pole!. Instead of gripping about your "antenna" they could be praising you for being so patriotic and/or neighborly and furnishing the flag pole -- free of charge. How nice of you! :-) Al Maximus wrote: they do not allow outdoor antennas. |

I was never one of those Airborne guys with the nifty berets - never saw the
value of jumping out of perfectly good aircraft S. I'll have to give it a try LOL Strength and Honor "Diverd4777" wrote in message ...
