I wish I could help you. Actually, I have the opposite problem on my
relatively new Sony ICF-2010. The antenna swivel has gotten too loose and it tips way too easily. Maybe the person who can solve your problem can help me solve mine as well. "Robert Elsinga =8-)" t wrote in message . .. Hi! I just bought myself a (used, 1yo) Sony ICF-SW7600GR from e-bay. It is as new, but I find the antenna not turning smoothly. Normally you extend the antenna rod and then rotate/turn it around the base. Mostly for FM reception, since there the direction in which the antenna points is important, but also for SW listening with the 7600GR lying on its back or the built-in stand, to point the antenna straight up. With my 7600GR, rotating the antenna doesn;t go smoothly at all. It is like the part inside the radio is jammed or has a lot of friction. It does turn, but needs a lot of torque to do so and makes snapping sounds while rotating in one direction (the other direction makes no sounds but also rotates difficultly)... and the radio casing moves lightly at the point where the antenna is in the casing. Is this normal? What can I do about it? I do have the original receipt, but it is not in my own name ofcourse since I bought it second hand. Any tips appreciated. |
