You'll need a second receiver, tune the one to 9755, then go up and

down
the band with the other. You'll hear the splatter on the modulation
peaks.

What's their problem, over modulation? Maybe bad bias of the finals?

Maybe
their engineers are asleep? I'm curious? If its ongoing that's a bad

sign.

No idea. But the last time I heard it wasn't that long ago, and it was

when
that transmitter? was tuned to 9515.

Certainly not the first time RCI has had this problem, if I recall

correctly
it's happened off and on for many years.

I wonder what kind of TX they run. I'm gonna check their web site.

I think they have 3 old Collins there and 3 Harris and at least 3 ABB - Asea
Brown Boveri transmitters.

But perhaps some of those may have been de-commissioned.

More interesting is to learn what type of TX it is.
PDM, Plate mod? I suppose the last.

Beats me. I wanted to document that others were hearing it too. They
apparently have a problem with one of the their transmitters. My guess
is that this problem TX is the same one they use on 9515, because back
around Christmas, I heard the same splatter problem. Steve (above) heard
the splatter also and responded to a post I made to the newsgroup.

This evening, I was trying to listen to VOA on 9775 and they were all
over them. Tuned up to 9820 and noticed they were interfering with Radio
Havana also.

I checked 9515 and the problem was not apparent this morning.

Have to check 9755 again this evening.

How wide of a splatter are we talking about? Last night I heard something
splattering on WWV on 10MHz, and in trying to identify it I found a garbled
voice transmission that sounded vaguely French spread over a very wide area
peaking around 10060 kHz. It was spread so wide it sounded like an FM signal
tuned in AM mode, but it just sounded like a buzz in FM mode.

It's not there tonight.
