Because most of the NPR-affiliated stations also are some of the last means of providing classical music and other artistic endeavors to large parts of the country. Personally, I do listen to NPR and don't find them to be a mouthpiece of some secret liberal conspiracy. Well for one thing, it's no secret! But it is indeed a liberal conspiracy! It's a conspiracy which intends to bring socialism to the good 'ol U.S.A. |

First off, Michael, if you don't see liberal bias in NPR, you're being
intellectually dishonest, because I know you're smart enough to recognize it. NPR was a great idea, and government grants were needed to get it off the ground. Now, it can be heard pretty much anywhere in the USA. Liberal bias at NPR springs from basically the same source you'll always see from federal workers. Liberals like to grow government, and from the federal worker (and federal funding) point of view, that's "good for the company business." So, they cozy up to the liberal point-of-view. However, as a conservative, I don't like my tax dollars supporting something that I don't agree with. I have no problem with them being on the air -- I just don't want to get the bill. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has been given some very notable donations in the past couple of years, and the need for feeding at the public trough has passed. One such donation was more than their entire budget for a few years. "Michael Bryant" wrote in message ... From: N8KDV You dispute the fact that many educators are leftists? Get your head out of your fat ass boy! OK, I see. To you it's obvious that many educators are "leftists." Then you probably agree with the Secretary of Education branding the National Education Association as "terrorists," right, Steve? "Tell the lie big, tell it enough times, and it becomes the truth." Do you know who said that, Steve? MWB, The Classic Bigotry and Self-Righteous-Bias of the Liberal-Left: BAD - Capitalist Corporate Advertising (AM Radio & Clear Channel) GOOD - Tax Free Foundations Sponsership (FM Radio, NPR, PRI and PBS) [ TAX FREE and Charitable Contributions = In-Direct Government Support woth Billions of Dollars. ] . No, you don't understand, RHF. You think you do, but you don't. And you continue to ignore the facts. The URLs I provided showed that only 2% of NPR funding comes from the government and that it's a very small fraction of "Billions of Dollars." You didn't even read them, did you? Now, you make it sound that Clear Channel is just a shining example of effective free enterprise capitalism. Hardly. Check out the sites for the real facts of how Clear Channel's patronage and donations to Bush have been turned into special advantages: http://www.buzzflash.com/analysis/03/04/18_clear.html http://www.takebackthemedia.com/radiogaga.html Now, take the time to read them. . Here's NPR's current stories their working on. Why don't you tell all of us bigoted educators which ones represent propaganda from the OWLES ? http://www.npr.org/about/place/corps...inancials.html You didn't even attempt to point out which current NPR stories are part of the leftist propaganda machine. MWB - So 'now' You Do Admit In Your Own Words To Being A "bigoted educator". . Nope. I was mocking you calling anyone on the other side of the political spectrum bigoted. NOTE: That the majority of Clear Channel's Programming is Music. http://www.clearchannel.com/ Yes, 50% of Clear Channel stations are FM. Most FM stations above the educational basement of the FM band are music stations. The vast majority of CC's AM channels are consertive talk stations. That's what I claimed in the first place. MWB, The Classic Bigotry and Self-Righteous-Bias of the Liberal-Left: BAD - Capitalist Corporate Advertising (AM Radio & Clear Channel) GOOD - Tax Free Foundations Sponsership (FM Radio, NPR, PRI and PBS) [ TAX FREE and Charitable Contributions = In-Direct Government Support woth Billions of Dollars. ] Thanks for repeating that visual poetry. I guess someone could've missed it as many times as you've repeated it. TOTAL 13563 (Clear Channel 600 {50% AM} ~ 4.5%) The Liberal-Left has a 19% to 4.5% (4:1) "Advantage Over" the Conservative-Right in Media Ownership. Your assumption is that ALL stations not owned by Clear Channel are, by default, part of the liberal-left. Can you possibly back that up with any additional documentation? RHF, you're making it too easy. How about listening to NPR for at least a week while you take some notes on the stories you think are examples of a liberal point of view. Then we'll have something tangible to discuss on the subject of NPR and liberalism. Otherwise it's just one more opinion on NPR without documentation. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |
