Does it look like you're company might market a stand alone version of
the sync' detector in your MW receiver? If not, can we build our own
from your plans?


That is a strong possibility. Once we get ahead on the big project, we will
work more on the radio / accessory details, including the Sync Detector.
BTW- I'm looking for some PIN diodes for my R8B. It looks like some of
them in the front-end bandpass filters might have been damaged or become
leaky. This also happened to my SW8 several years ago while it was still
under warranty. Drake did the repair. What do you suggest for a good
PIN?

The HP 1N5767s are a good bet. What is desirable for this application is a
diode with a long minority carrier lifetime.
The 1N5767 meets this requirement with its 1.5uSec lifetime. They are
available off the shelf from Newark Electronics. Digi-Key or Mouser may also
have them.
