If they had the power to perform cultural/religious cleansing of the planet
to be rid of us they would.

Or is it an honor? They are revered like Hollywood stars in some parts of

the middle east. They even have what's like hero trading cards. I learned
this from a show I saw a month or two ago on Sundance where Francis Ford
Coppola did a documentary on the Palestinian/Israel conflict. It was
interesting. I'm trying to remember the name of it?

I didn't see the Coppola piece, but honor makes as much sense as any other
explaination.

I think there's alot of risk for the terrorists in playing the suicide
bomber card. The Osama bin Ladens now have to prove that God is really on
their side. Even the numbnuts of the Islamic world will want to see some
signs of success. They've had a few, like the American pullout from Beirut
and the Spanish election, but they will have to keep the ball rolling. This
Islamic terrorist threat could hang on for a long time, but I'm sure that
when the terrorist leaders have nothing to show but failure for years, they
will have a hard time convining anyone that they are truely speaking for
God.

It'll also help if we don't make life easy for their recruiters.

We really do want to take care of the
poor, educate the unskilled and illiterate, protect the environment, and so
on, but we simply disagree with liberals that more (or larger) government is
the answer to these problems.

I think you need to be careful when you speak for all neo-cons.

Can you show me one example of where the Bush administration has made "big
government" smaller?

It has everything to do with religion, the Islam extremist hate anyone
who isn't Arabic and Islamic.

Actually they Hate other 'islamic' sects/groups who do not
believe EXACTLY as they do. But for now they will work with
then to "Eliminate" the Infidels and then they will 'eliminate'
all those who do not believe as they do.
..
..

It is a radical bunch of Islamics who hate America and the freedom it
stands for. bin Laden is very wealthy, so why did he attack the WTC?

YES - It comes down to HATE [.]

YES - That is why Saudi Arabia is behind the Islamic Bomb. Europe
will be the 'primary target' for the new age of Islamic Conversion
of the Infidels in this Century with France as the Key to Europe.

You get a point for the good point Frank. "But " the average person over
there is far from being a bin Laden and easily influenced by dreams of a
great afterlife if he just fights or straps some dynamite to his ass.

The strange thing is, most recent Western terrorists, or terrorist leaders,
have had average or better wealth. Think of the Red Brigades or the
Weathermen.

While there certainly are terrorists in the poorest parts of Central and
South America, Africa and Asia, they tend to stay put and limit their
horrible crimes to their neighbors.

FD,

YES - To the 'secular' Soldier of the USofA and many other
"Civilized" Countries suicide is not standard Training Metric.

But to a "Person of Faith" like an Islamic Fundamentalist
Suicide Bombing is the Ultimate Statement of Faith.
It Says: I Believe! - I Have Faith! - Follow Me!

You may be right. I have thought that myself. Plus the worlds getting
smaller and the words out just how nice us Americans live. It will get
contagious in time and we don't have the room so they will have to make
their own free little democracies with MTV and microwaves.

However, those Americans that would use the incident as an opportunity to
try to make political capital against the Bush administration by blowing the
whole thing out of proportion are (as usual) morally and ethically bankrupt.

As are those Americans that would attempt to justify and defend these actions
of deliberate abuse.

Gee, you must not be reading this NG. There have been several right-wingers
suggesting that they had it coming. You very clearly have one-way vision.
