Saturday, May 08, 2004 The liberal US talk radio network Air America may have been set up by comedian and author Al Franken, but not many of its staff are smiling this weekend. Instead, they're coming to terms with the latest crisis to hit the fledgling network: the resignation on Thursday of its chairman and vice chairman. The departures of Evan Cohen and his investment partner Rex Sorensen came just a week after the company announced that co-founder Mark Walsh had stepped down as CEO to take a smaller role at the company, and that David Logan had been replaced as head of programming. Neither Cohen nor Sorensen would comment or give a reason for their decision. Company president Jon Sinton was not returning calls yesterday either. Air America has been plagued by problems since it launched on 31st March. After just two weeks on the air, a dispute with a business partner led to Air America's programming being pulled from stations in Chicago and Los Angeles. The network was later restored in Chicago, but the company said it was looking for a new business partner there. Posted by Andy Sennitt @ 09:42 UTC |
