There are plenty of SHORT WAVE pirate stations that can be heard in the UK. Sunday morning is the best time to listen around 6MHz. There are also pirate stations using MW and VHF - so to class a pirate as someone using a frequency modulated transmitter is a bit narrow minded. People also still use valves for audio and RF amplifiers, as much as that might horrify you! You should be a bit friendlier and people might help you out !
