You don't have to sneak into Mexico. You just drive across the
border.

Sneak into Mexico ? ( FEH !!)

DiverD,

Because School Districts were given ESL Federal Funding to aid
children who did not 'speak' English as their Primary Language.
If the Children Learned to 'read, write and speak' English and
then left the ESL Program. The School District would then lose
their ESL Federal Funds. {Follow the Money}

BAD,

- Solar only works during Sun Light. NOT a 24&7 Power Source !

- Windmills only work when the Wind Blows. NOT a 24&7 Power Source !

- Oil, Gas and Coal Fueled Power Plants = Air Pollution and
other Environment Problems.

- Current Nuclear Technology has it Long Term Environment and
Health Dangers. Although Cold Fusion may some day be a Reality.
http://www.coopcomm.org/nonukes/safenrgy.htm

+ HYDRO-POWER Dams for Generation and Reservoirs for Natural
Energy Storage are still the 'best choice' for a "Clean" Power
Source that does Produce Power 24&7 and provides many other
Social Benefits to Society.
HYDRO-POWER= http://www.eere.energy.gov/RE/hydropower.html

YES - Hydro-Power for an Energy Independent {Free} America.

The one Power Source that can produce 'sufficient qualities'
of Power and produces the least long term Environment Problems
is Hydro-Power. Plus Hydro-Power provides many other Social
Benefits: Flood Control; Water Management for Wild Life and
Recreation; and Clean Water for Agriculture and People.
But Hydro-Power is being 'blocked' by the same Ultra-Liberal
Environmental Extremist who control the Democrat Party.

Lots & Lots of Windmill Farms...

It's actually interesting that you bring up windmill farms.

It seems as though your good pal Teddy Kennedy and his family are/were
actually in a fight over some proposed windmills off of Martha's Vineyard
which might destroy their idyllic view.

NIMBY - Also Walter Cronkite was againt them.

Google it, I don't have time to do all your research.

I don't need to Google it myself..
I remember it very well.. the hypocracy..

We do need the energy. Windmill farms aren't so bad, if they
are done to blend more or less with the background. I see
hundreds of them on hillsides in CA when I drive down there.
I'd rather see those than poorly maintained nuke plants.

There are plenty of places where there IS wind 24/7, such as mountain areas
(the average wind speed on Mt. Washington (VT?) is over 100 MPH. On coastal
areas there is wind almost all the time. Also, electricity generated by
windmills is stored in batteries for times of no wind. It is a 24/7 power
source.

Sure, the energy can be stored in other ways besides batteries, as well.
I've read about a plan to pump water up a tall tower and recover the energy
through water turbines.

That's what that whole hydrogen power scheme is all about. It's really
energy storage. Energy is used to break down water into hydrogen and
oxygen, and is recovered when the hydrogen and oxygen are recombined.

The energy from solar power will correspond roughly with daytime demand.
Not so with wind power, but power is power, and the existing generators
should be throttled back to take advantage of days when wind power is
abundant.
