I live in NYC, and I have lots of reception/interference problems. I was hoping the Sony 100s would be a good choice for my needs. Anybody got any opinions on how it functions as an FM radio (i.e. as an expensive Walkman). Thanks, -barry I tried ALL of the shortwave portables regarding their FM performance. The very best ( testing with ears only!!) is the SANGEAN 909. You have to learn how to manipulate the whip antenna. I get stations with this radio that others only come in with an attic antenna. Pete Thanks for the recommendation. I'm hoping to find something smaller than the 909, but it gets such good comments that maybe I'll reconsider. The YB400 has a very hot front end for FM as well. One of the most sensitive radios I've used. |
