I passed my "vision screening test" when I was in the 3rd grade. I assume
the test was administered carelessly or incompetently as my nearsightedness
was later caught the old-fashioned way. The teacher noticed that I couldn't
read the chalkboard unless I was sitting in the front row. She sent me home
with a note.
