Same answer every time. The DX-399.
All I know is that, of all my radios, the one I would choose for a backpacking/bicycle/motorcycle/Eurail/car tour of Europe or across the US would be the DX-399. It is the size of a paperback book, A small paperback at that. I have to agree, that is my first choice if going out and needing something small, nothing even really comes close to it IMO. Only drawback is lack of ssb, but that is it, if that isn't a concern it is the smartest choice. Just my opinion. ~^Monitoring The Spectrum^~ Hammarlund HQ129X /Heathkit Q Multiplier Hammarlund HQ140X Multiple GE P-780's(GREAT BCB Radios) RCA Victor *Strato- World* RCA Victor RJC77W-K(Walnut Grain) 1942 Zenith Wave Magnet 6G 601M Cathedral/ Ross World Master/Rhapsody-MultiBand DX100/*SUPER-DELUXE Mod- DRIVEN*394/*Modded*398/399/402 OMGS Transistor Eight/Realistic 12-1451 Henry Kloss Model One/Bell+HowellSW ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Alpha Delta DX Sloper 57ft. 500ft. 12AWG. I'll toss my hat in for the Sony 7600GR. Terrific little portable! Mine has
toured Southeast Asia and the Czech Republic so far. Regards John Barnard Herb G wrote: Thank you all. These have been very useful inputs. Herb G. Sound quality is not important. Thank you for any inputs. Herb G. |
