Using the 756PRO and dual watch to monitor it and the MARS on 13.927 - activity picking up. Dale W4OP As usual, they gear up way too soon, for the last 8 hours "looking for weather from the affected areas"...when there are no affected areas, and won't be for 20 hours from their initial activation. That is not exactly true... The Hurricane Watch Net will activate anytime a hurricane is within 300 miles of land. Earlier today Hurricane Frances was near the Turks and Caicos Islands, and approaching the Bahamas, so there certainly are affected areas. dxAce |
