Do any of you folks have experience with both the Wellbrook loop and

I have no experience with the Wellbrook, but I do have a Skymatch.

If you decide to try a skymatch, I'd suggest ordering one from the factory, with the optional connector on the base of the antenna so you can replace the thin factory coax when it dies.

Mine got a bit more wear than normal, because I bought it for portable use with my camping and vacation radio. But even for fixed use, I wouldn't buy another unless I could replace the coax myself. It seems pretty cheesy.

Performance wise, it was pretty good - but not as good as a 3 meter whip and an Avantek preamp.

But if a Wellbrook had been available within the week I had to get the antenna delivered when I needed it, I'd have gone for it instead of the Skymatch.

As I recall, the Wellbrook had a little more dynamic range, and loops are a help if you've got RFI.
