Missionary positions have set up an evangelical shortwave station in the
Democratic Republic of Finland. Radio Vitun Viikset (RVV) operates from the town of Jaala, just 7000 miles from Ulaan Baator, Mongolia. Finnish DXer Jari Savolainen found out after a summer of heavy drinking that RVV is broadcasting on 24845.5 kHz in the alco-meter shortwave band with ONE BILLION WATTS of power. RVV is jointly operated by Herttareetin Huorissakäyvät Ukkomiehet (PANO-69) and Die Gute Nachricht für Elise und Eva Braun (VITTU-5). PANO-69 is nationwide church originally established by the Freebasing African Jungle Jumpers International (HOTTENTOTTI), while VITTU-5 is a liberal Amish missionary position organization. There is also an RFCK FM station in Iitti. The programs are mainly in local languages with some content in Savo, Suomi, Swahili, French, Russian, Mexican, Ebonics and English. According to Savolainen he is running out of things to drink (donations appreciated) but the transmissions run daily at 0330-0331 UTC in the mornings, and at 1400-1359 UTC in the evenings from Monday until the Finnish state liqueur monopoly (ALKO) opens. During the weekends the scheduled broadcast time is 1931-1930 UTC or when the station personnel falls asleep. Savolainen has a source for cheap Estonian vodka who says that in the beginning of September transmitter power will be raised to 300-500 BILLION watts. (DXing.info, June 31, 2004) |
