Troll ! PLONK!

Lack of a sence of humor! PLONK!!!!

Yeah but it took me a while to "get" mike too. I used to think he was
a humorless anarchistic nutcase prone to relying on goofy websites,
but I've since realized he's not humorless at all.

He has a funny bone.

What's the net equal of a statement flying over one's head...heh heh heh...

Perhaps the reason you can find programs in the 2004 edition but not
the 2001 edition is that... (Thinking really, really hardy)
The schedule changed.

Frank White September 18th 04 01:58 AM

In article , says...

Why did you get a 2001 copy?
Passport To World Band Radio is an annual publication.
This years issue 2004 plainly on the cover!

reread his post again. he got it because he wanted to hear the shortwave radio
broadcasts from 2001, not what is currently being broadcast in 2004.

Whoa! O_O

Trippy...

Yesterday I picked up a 2001 copy of Passport to World Band Radio©.

I can't expresss my disappointment enough. It seems every shown
frequency I can tune in is being broadcast NOW (2004AD) and NOT from 2001AD.

Why waste so many resources on information for the 2001 broadcast year
when the programmes simply aren't available?

This sort of fraudulent presentation would NEVER be allowed on any other
life supporting planet that *I* know of..shameful...

It's occurred to me the radio may be at fault, so I'll be checking the
Chronosynch© circuitry later today. Knowing that NO Chronosynch© crystal
has ever failed before is giving little hope, however.

The problem is that your radio is too new. Go buy a radio made before
2001.

Just in case that does not work get yourself an FTL (faster than light)
spaceship and do warp speed for a 3 light years and then try the radio
again.

in reply to the original poster,

so you like to listen to what's known in thhe radio and tv fields as
long-delayed echoes.

Well, at shortwave frequencies here on Earth, you can't.

that's because the Earth has what is called an ionosphere.

When you were in outer space, any shortwave radio signals sent from
spaceships would bounce off the Earth's ionosphere if they hit Earth's darkside
and bounce back to you taking however many light years away you are to get to
you.

But shortwave radio signals originating from the Earth reflect off the Earth's
ionosphere and bounce back to Earth, not making it into outer space at all.

so no Earth-originated shorwave radio long-delayed echoes for you. even if you
come down to Earth. So you'll just have to stay up in space.

But you can try for long-delayed echoes of ourr tv signals. Our tv was much
better in the past than it is now.

;)

Yes..I'm watching a guy named Ralph Kramden threaten to hit his wife so
hard she will go to the moon. I must work on this 'humour' appreciation
as I'm just not getting it.

well, take a look at this. This guy discovered that the alien he had been
monitoring for two months was in reality his neighbor's dishwasher.
