Unlike gales that can gust between 60-90mph, the steady, consistent onslaught of tropical storm force winds does a lot of damage that the wind speed alone would not appear to have the energy to cause. But mot radio stations can operate on emergency power for awhile, if they want to anyway. That station would be smart to have packed up and left by now, or else plan on camping there for several days ;-) Please note that those are *not* my comments... Actually the 30 MPH figure he is speaking of comes from an earlier comment from WYFR personnel. dxAce |
