Hi, just wondering what the main jingle on Radio Marti means in
english? It's the one where the guy is singing-the one that is
repeated many times.
Thanks.

Can you give me an approximation of what is said in Spanish? I can't receive
Marti from my end of the planet.

BAD,

Thanks for website's and the info contained in them but I neither
see a translation of the jingle nor do I want to read essays and
volumes of stuff on Radio Marti.
If I missed it in my skimming of these, can someone who knows just
copy and paste it here.
The jingle runs many times an hour and lasts for about a minute
approximatley. Its this guy singing over a bubbly
spanish/mexican-type music. I'd just like to know what this means.
Thanks.

I just listened to the jingle. I am presuming that it is the same one,
although the vocalist is Celia Cruz, and the music is a Cuban son, and
not
Mexican or Spanish. Celia Cruz is the absolute most famous Cuban singer,
who
passed away earlier this year. She was a life-long opponent to the
tyrannical Castro government.

Unless someone can capture the whole jingle and send it to me in MP3 or
RA
format, I can't possibly translate it all. It is a little poem or song
about
Cuba and Marti's contribution.

Basically, it sings of broadcasting on Radio Marti to Cuba, with the
flavor
of Cuba and the promise of truth and liberty. It uses very colloquial
Cuban
language and reference

Thanks, David.
No, its not a lady but a man singing it. I just recorded the jingle
and I will e-mail you the audiofile. Thanks!

Funny, as I listened for several hours the day of the first post and just
heard the Celia jingle. Maybe they have several. Please do send, and I will
translate.
