I believe the first commercial radio station in the U.S. was KDKA in Pittsburg, Pennsyvania. For years there was a big debate as to whether WWJ in Detroit, Michigan or KDKA was the first to broadcast. Thanks for your time and help it's greatly appreciated. IIRC it was KDKA, in 1916. The first broadcast program was by Fessenden in 1907, from Brant Rock, Mass. on a frequency of 42KHz with a power of 1KW. An experimental transmission, so not really commercial. -- Cheers, Stan Barr stanb .at. dial .dot. pipex .dot. com (Remove any digits from the addresses when mailing me.)
