![]() "Mike Terry" wrote in message ... On Monday October 18, VRT Radio told staff at RVi, its international service that all shortwave transmissions of programmes in English, French and German would be discontinued. The only shortwave activity that will survive is the transmission of 4 hours per day of programmes in Dutch, most of it relays of domestic VRT stations, and only beamed to south Europe. Will RVI in English on 1512 kHz survive? -- Simon Mason Anlaby East Yorkshire. 53°44'N 0°26'W http://www.simonmason.karoo.net |

Slowly and slowly international broadcasting to major nations are
dying out. I think the focus will be on third world countries these days. As now people in 1st world nations are expected to be listening to XM, Sirrus, or using internet feeds. But even if an internet feed is available.. I still use shortwave :-) |
